Jolie believed that acting was a means to an end in the beginning, as it helped her contribute to paying bills. Despite this, she acknowledges the creative aspects of the job and the opportunities to explore different times in history, learn new skills, and delve into different parts of oneself. However, she also recognizes that at the end of the day, actors are not the characters they portray.
