The photographer hails from Oak Ridge, Tennessee and has had a thriving career spanning over 30 years. His style is unique and diverse, setting him apart in the industry. He studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, before making his way to Milan where he made a name for himself with his innovative approach to photography. His work has been featured in several renowned publications, including Vogue Italia, Lei, Linea Italiana, Madame Figaro, and French Elle. Upon his return to the United States, he went on to photograph album covers and advertising campaigns for various clients.
Holz’s photography style is distinguished by his use of lighting, shadows, movement, and printing techniques, resulting in unparalleled images. His portfolio boasts a range of subjects, including nudes juxtaposed with industrial objects, vast landscapes, forests, jungles, rivers, and aftermaths. He later shifted his focus to celebrity portraiture, capturing iconic figures such as Jack Nicholson, Angelina Jolie, Beyonce, and President Barack Obama, among others. His work has been exhibited in galleries worldwide, and his photographs are displayed in permanent collections at the International Museum of Photography at the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY, and Centro Cultural/Arte Contemporaneo in Mexico City.
