During a recent video call from her Los Angeles home, Gal Gadot – the Israeli actress known for her roles in action and Disney movies – shared her excitement despite her busy schedule as an actor, producer, entrepreneur, mother, and wife. Gadot admitted to finding it difficult to unwind because she always needs to be doing something. Currently, she is working on producing and starring in Netflix’s forthcoming action thriller, Heart of Stone, where she plays spy Rachel Stone. She invested considerable time and expertise in the film’s development process. Additionally, Gadot founded Goodles, a brand that creates healthy macaroni and cheese and played antagonistic characters in Snow White and several other projects. During her interview with L’OFFICIEL, Gadot shares insights into her upcoming plans, how imposter syndrome affects her, and her grandfather’s legacy, who survived the Holocaust.
Dressed impeccably in a gorgeous PRADA dress and accessorized with a stunning TIFFANY CO necklace and earrings from their archives, I had the honor of recording a video at the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp. The Righteous Persons Foundation requested me to participate in this project, but I had no idea of the significance of my narration or the platform it would be presented on. It was an overwhelming experience when I learned about it. My grandfather was among the handful of individuals who survived Auschwitz, but sadly, he lost his entire family there.
When my grandfather was just fourteen years old, he could never have imagined that his granddaughter would one day share his story of survival from a place that had brought him such trauma. For years, he kept silent about his experiences as they were too painful to relive. However, after the passing of his grandmother, he realized how fleeting life can be and decided to open up to us. Despite everything he had been through, my grandfather managed to overcome his trauma with love, forgiveness, and by encouraging others to be kind and compassionate. His eyes are gentle, revealing no anger or bitterness, making him seem like the most adorable teddy bear. I am grateful to have shared this journey with him and to carry on his legacy as a survivor’s grandchild. Sadly, countless stories like my grandfather’s have gone untold over time, which makes me appreciate this opportunity even more. The human spirit remains unchanged, and love, compassion, acceptance, and community are vital in creating a better world. Conversely, divisions, hate, fear, and envy only serve to hinder us and prevent us from leading fulfilling lives.
Wearing INTERIOR Apparel and pairing it with TIFFANY CO earrings not only puts you in the spotlight as the lead character in Heart of Stone but also positions you as a key player in the production itself. This project is unique because it involves both acting and producing, and my husband, Jaron Versano, and I launched our own production company to take control of our future. I’m not one to sit around waiting for opportunities to come my way, which is why Heart of Stone was one of our first ideas. Normally, movies featuring female leads are targeted towards female audiences, but after seeing the success of Wonder Woman, we realized that universal storylines can appeal to all viewers. We also noticed a lack of raw action films with a relatable female lead, as opposed to the usual polished Hollywood hero, so we decided to fill that gap in the market.
As an actor, I often receive scripts and have little say in their creation. While this can be easy, there’s a certain satisfaction in building something from scratch. Despite some raised eyebrows and skepticism, working with my husband has been successful due to our unique dynamic. Jaron’s business acumen has been a valuable addition to my creative process. When he had the choice between continuing in real estate or joining me, we saw an opportunity for him to be the missing piece in my creative process. Who better to manage my interests than my partner?
